It's Time to Wake Up!

Live to learn, learn to live, and then teach others. - Douglas Horton

What's your life like right now? Are you awake? And when I say "awake" I mean really awake. Life is complicated and can be both draining and exhausting. Many of us stumble through life like we are in some kind of trance. We find it hard to really live our dreams and achieve the dreams we long for. We settle for less because somewhere along life's sometimes painful journey, we lose our true selves. Maybe someone close to us had said we aren't good enough. Maybe we've tried and tried and nothing seems to work. We have resolved in our minds that it's indeed better to stop trying than to keep facing disappointments. Consequently, we lose confidence in ourselves and our abilities. We are tired when we get up in the morning and exhausted when we lay down to sleep at night.

For those of us than believe in a higher power, we pray and meditate as that is our only source of hope. In time I have learnt that life is what we make it. It really is up to you. Nothing good comes without real effort; sometimes you may have to fight. Yes - fight. Use of every ounce of energy you have to keep pressing forward. Never give up. Let's face it, if you don't live your dreams, who will? The pictures we have in our hearts are meant to materialize. One wise man once said that a life without a dream is not life at all. I challenge you today to wake up and pursue those ambitions. Rise from your slumber. Time is of the essence.
